Supplier gets a lift out of award

Melbourne entrepreneur Robert Lea and the head of lifting supplier, Healthcare Lifting Specialists has been awarded the prestigious Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour, for his successful distribution of a Danish range of lifting equipment in Australia.

The medal was presented at a ceremony this month at the Melbourne Aquarium in connection with the Biennial Conference of the Australian Association for Manual Handling of people.

The Diploma and the Medal are designed to recognise extraordinary achievement in promoting and marketing Danish products and services abroad.

They were presented to Mr Lea by the Danish Ambassador to Australia, Susanne Shine, in the presence of Mr Bendt Apollo Rasmussen from the Danish company Guldmann, who nominated Mr Robert Lea for the award.

Mr Lea received the awards for his: “remarkable and tireless efforts to ease life for many disabled people in Australia, by introducing to Australia a Danish product range of lifting and transfer products to assist persons who have permanent or temporary disabilities”.

Ms Shine said she was happy to see that daily life for many disabled people in Australia had been simplified through the Danish–Australian partnership.

Mr Lea has been promoting Guldmann lifting products in Australia since 2001.
