The Australian Association of Gerontology 41st National Conference will take place from the 18 – 21 November 2008 at the Esplanade Hotel, Freemantle WA. The theme is ‘Ageing Landscapes'.
The program looks at ageing from multiple perspectives and includes a broad range of both invited and submitted papers from local, national and international research, academics, practitioners, provider, planners and policy makers.
The three-day conference provides the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with colleagues on a diverse range of topics, including: technology to maintain independence; the contribution of research to policy making; older people with life-long disability; elder abuse; built environment; social inclusion; nutrition and many more.
Addressing key issues will be Prof William Mann from the Rehabilitation Science Program at the University of Florida; Dr Anna Howe, Consulting Gerontologist from Melbourne; and Prof Laura Mosqueda from the University of California who will address ‘Innovative Approaches to Addressing Elder Abuse.’ The conference will also feature concurrent sessions, symposia and a full social program.
‘Early’ registration is available up to 19 September and is only $640 for AAG members or $736 for others. This includes three- days of conferencing plus the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner.
