ITAC deadline extension

Academics and industry leaders have one more week to submit abstracts for presentations.

The deadline for submitting presentation abstracts for the 2010 IT in Aged Care [ITAC] Conference have been extended.

The conference’s organising committee said the closing date had been extended from 29 January to 5 February due to requests from the industry.

The fourth annual ITAC conference will be held from 26-27 July 2010 at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

The committee is seeking presentations relating to the conference theme – ‘Smart Aged Care: The E-Health Revolution – from industry leaders and academics.

The CEO of the Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA), Louise Schaper, said the theme emphasizes the importance of IT in establishing a sustainable, high quality aged care sector.

The theme incorporates a number of hot topics including, the health reform process, cloud computing, social media, the national broadband network and hospital in the home.

Presentations should last for 30 minutes, including five minutes for questions.
