With an exciting mix of international and national keynote speakers, delegates will explore the notion that we have control over how we age and hear about the UK reforms. People aged 80 plus will share their experiences about what is important for them and perspectives on the proposed reforms. The newly-appointed Age Discrimination Commissioner, the Hon Susan Ryan AO, will present on day one and there will be a plenary session on disaster management.
This is an exciting and challenging time to be part of the community care sector. By May 2012 we should know which elements of the Productivity Commission Final Report Caring for Older Australians are likely to be picked up by Government. It may be a time of celebration or unease. Regardless, it will be a great time for community care providers to come together to learn, share, network and be inspired.
