Need to know - dates and events

Can you believe it’s March already? It’s a pretty packed month and looking ahead on the calendar, the year shows no signs of slowing down. Here’s a selection of key dates and events coming up in the near future.

Abstract submissions close on 23 March for the Aged & Community Services Association of NSW & ACT State Conference, to be held in Sydney on 10-11 May. 

Abstract and poster submissions for the Centre for Ageing and Pastoral Studies (CAPS) Conference also close on 23 March and must be sent to caps@csu.edu.au. The conference will be held in Canberra in September. 

MARCH EVENTS ROUNDUP

On Thursday 15 March in Sydney, Guild Accountants will present a forum on the aged care reforms designed by the Productivity Commission, specifically how they will impact funding and finance. Email aliang@guildaccountants.com.au or call 02 8226 6182

Down in Hobart, Tasmania’s Better Practice Conference also begins on the 15th, presented by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency. 

On 16 March, Latrobe Regional Hospital in Traralgon, Victoria plays host to a clinical care forum called Best Care for Older People – What is the latest? Presented by the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) and Monash University, with support from the Continence Foundation. 

The AAG are also co-hosting the ‘Ageing Well’ Rural Conference with the Aged and Community Services Association of NSW & ACT, on 19-20 March in Dubbo.

The Aged Care Queensland State Conference kicks off on 20 March at the Gold Coast, while Sydney has its fair share of events as well, including the National Telemedicine Summit, which starts on 22 March, with pre-conference workshops the day before.

Also in Sydney is Retirement Communities World Australasia and the Aged Care Summit Australia, which both run from 26 - 28 March at the same venue, Dockside Cockle Bay Wharf.
