Sector briefing on ACAT transition to My Aged Care

The Department of Social Services will host a live webinar for service providers and Aged Care Assessment Teams on the full transition of ACATs to My Aged Care.

The Department of Social Services will host a live webinar for service providers and Aged Care Assessment Teams on the full transition of ACATs to My Aged Care.

From November, ACATs will start to use the complete functionality of My Aged Care including electronic matching and referral of services for home care packages, transition care and residential aged care.

Since July, ACATs have been receiving referrals for comprehensive assessment through My Aged Care, but unlike the Regional Assessment Service, ACATs have not been using all of the system’s expanded functionalities. To date, ACATs have had access to the system’s accept and reject function for referrals based on a priority rating generated through My Aged Care.

The department said it will outline what the transition means and will step through a range of scenarios for ACATs, the Regional Assessment Service and service providers.

The government has said ACATs in each jurisdiction will transition across to the new system between July and December 2015.

The webinar will take place 26 October from 10am to 12pm AEST and a recording will also be available from the DSS website after the event.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions online during the webinar.
