Home Care Today, a CDC support project, is hosting a free webinar for aged care senior executives and board members on the changes to home care packages planned for February 2017.

The webinar, targeting small to medium home care providers, will outline the governance implications of a consumer-driven competitive market where home care packages will be allocated to consumers to select their preferred provider.

The webinar will draw on a new resource produced by Home Care Today, which aims to prompt strategic planning within aged care boards in preparation for the significant cultural and organisational changes facing community care organisations.

The resource was developed through a series of interviews with key aged care and disability sector stakeholders throughout the second half of 2015.

Some key topics for boards identified in the resource include:

  • increasing choice for consumers
  • fluctuating demand and revenue
  • marketing and communications
  • workforce planning
  • innovation
  • risk
  • organisational strategy, structure and performance.

The resource aims to encourage a strategic approach to managing the future directions in the industry and also includes a checklist for boards to ensure they maximise the time before February 2017. Webinar attendees will receive a copy of the resource and accompanying video.

The webinar will take place 15 March 1-2pm Eastern Standard Time.
