Nominations for this year’s Better Practice Awards will open from 1 to 31 May.
It’s time to start preparing your nomination!
Open to the home care and residential aged care sector, the Quality Agency’s Better Practice Awards celebrate projects, initiatives or programs that act as exemplars for other aged care service providers and to encourage continuous improvement. They recognise and disseminate better practice and innovation in the sector.
Nominations are no longer required to be made under a particular category. Instead, you are asked to select from a list of ‘descriptors’. You can choose up to three descriptors that best align with your nomination.
- Leadership and culture
- Health and wellbeing
- Clinical care
- Autonomy and choice
- Communication and engagement
- Social participation
- Diversity ((services tailored for ‘special needs’ groups as defined in the Aged Care Act 1997)
- Living environment
The application process has been improved and simplified. All nominations are assessed by an independent panel against nomination selection criteria including a focus on quality of care and quality of life outcomes for consumers.
More information on eligibility, judging criteria and how to nominate, are available at www.aacqa.gov.au.
