There’s less than 30 days remaining for aged care hospitality and lifestyle staff to be in the running to win one of nine awards.

Easing of restrictions calls for celebration of aged care staff and is the perfect time to nominate chefs, cooks, cleaners, and providers of wellness activities to receive a unique industry award.

Friends, family, and colleagues have until Tuesday November 30th to celebrate and nominate their unsung heroes in the 2021 Hospitality & Lifestyle Aged Care (HLAC) Awards.

For the 2021 program, people can be nominated as teams or individuals, within the following categories:

• Excellence In Catering Service

• Catering Innovation Through COVID-19

• Hospitality Manager of the Year

• Chef/Cook of the Year

• Food Service Assistant of the Year

• Cleaner of the Year

• Laundry Services Individual of the Year

• Lifestyle/Activities Individual of the Year

• Outstanding Event/Theme Day

The national winners from each award category will be judged by a panel of independent industry leaders including professionals from Leading Age Services Australia, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, Care360 and Meals on Wheels Australia.

The HLAC Awards, a program run by SoupedUp, recognises and rewards outstanding team members across catering, cleaning, laundry, and lifestyle services within aged care homes.

  1. Staff are mandated to be vaccinated to have contact with Aged Care residents
Not only residents are put at risk with unvaccinated visitors , All staff including visiting Professionals are also put at risk

  2. I have just commenced working in the Age care sector at age 61, after working in different fields since 1984, I am very concerned that staff in age care who give so much care and dedication to all they do to help the most vulnerable are so little paid. This is appalling in 21 century. What is being done about better wages for age care workers?
