Wound expertise at the point of care

Mobile clinical assistant provider, Motion Computing, has partnered with Healthphone Solutions to integrate the software company’s wound care product onto its tablet PCs to expert consultation at the point of care.

Healthphone’s Mobile Wound Care enables doctors and wound care specialists to provide remote, real-time recommendations about wounds, regardless of patients’ location.

“Our Mobile Wound Care solution is a natural fit with the Motion C5 tablet PC,” said Healthphone’s CEO, Debbi Gillotti.

“By enabling instant access to assessments, care plan and treatments, and improving communication among clinicians, we are able to more effectively bridge the gap that can exist between hospitals and other community healthcare settings.”

In a Canadian project, front- line care providers equipped with tablet PCs containing the wound care program have been able to access and update wound care visit forms, take colour digital photos of wounds, and transmit information to wound specialists – all without leaving the patient’s bedside.

“The partnership between Motion Computing and Healthphone brings a total solution to healthcare providers through Motion’s tablet PCs,” said Scott Eckert, CEO of Motion Computing.

“Together, the combination of the Healthphone software and the Motion C5 MCA helps to better deliver quality care to patients and improve staff productivity.”
