$10,000 grants for rural providers



Not-for-profit aged care providers in small rural areas have the chance to obtain grants of up to $10,000 for special projects that would benefit older people.

The grants are being administered by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) with money from the Wicking Trust and the Sylvia & Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation.

Only incorporated not-for-profit aged care organisations are eligible and they must be located in a community with a population of less than 10,000 people.

Special priority will be given to projects supporting people with Alzheimer’s disease and organisations operating in remote communities. The FRRR will also target communities groups experiencing financial hardship.

Successful applicants will need to complete a financial report after completing the project and progress reports may be requested at various times throughout the life of the project.

Up to $250,000 in grants is available and grants may range from $100 to $10,000.

Applications can only be made by post and they should include documentation about incorporation, tax status, financial statements and ABN.

They must be sent to FRRR, CARA, PO Box 41 Bendigo VIC 3552 by Monday, 24 August.
