Construction is set to begin at the first of Blue Care’s new Azure Blue luxury retirement developments after an official sod turning ceremony.

The Redcliffe project is the first of six new resort-style communities due to be built in Queensland’s southeast over the next five years.

The village is located two blocks from the Redcliffe Peninsula foreshore and is close to a hospital, restaurant and other community facilities.

Almost 40 per cent of the 122 independent living units and serviced apartments have been sold ahead of construction.

The Redcliffe development will be an integrated village, drawing on Blue Care’s extensive experience in residential care and community health services.

Residents will have access to a wide range of services, including meals, laundry and, cleaning services as well as in-home care.

A 96-bed residential aged care facility will be located on the same site.

The village will consist of 100 one, two and three bedroom apartments and 22 serviced apartments.

The development would consist of three buildings which will be between four and five storeys high.

Other features and amenities include a swimming pool, barbecue areas, a gymnasium, a recreation centre, a hairdresser, a library and a café.

“This is the first of our Azure Blue developments so we are looking to set benchmarks in terms of design, functionality and quality,” said Blue Care’s property solutions director, James Mantis.
