Eldercare appoints new chair

James Lawes

South Australian aged care provider Eldercare has appointed James Lawes as the board’s new chair.

Mr Lawes has been on the board since 2009 and has over 19 years’ experience with consulting firm Ernst & Young as a director. He has also provided services to Village Roadshow Limited, Coles Group and Shneider Electric.

His experience in the field brings financial management reporting and business process analysis expertise to Eldercare.

Mr Lawes commenced his term as the board’s chair in January 2018, replacing outgoing chair Reverend Dr Ian Price who served on the Eldercare board for 16 years.

Carlyle Gardens appoints village manager

Michael Owens

RetireAustralia’s Carlyle Gardens Retirement Village has appointed Michael Owens as new village manager at the Bargara facility.

Mr Owens has previous experience in operating resorts, motels and conferences and with asset and facility management.

In his new role, his responsibilities include the day-to-day running of the village and looking at ways to maintain and improve the quality of life of the 400 residents.
