TLC Aged Care unveils high rise facility

TLC Aged Care’s Clifton Views facility

Victorian-based residential provider TLC Aged Care has unveiled Melbourne’s first high-rise aged care home Clifton Views in Fitzroy North.

The new nine-level facility in the inner-city that is a short distance to public transport, major hospitals, parks and the Melbourne CBD.

Bedrooms include king-single beds, built-in wardrobes, desks and wall-mounted televisions with Foxtel.

The facility features an on-site gym, hair and beauty salon, general practitioners, allied healthcare professionals and a medical centre available to both residents and the community.

Each level is equipped with its own lounge, dining area and view overlooking the Melbourne city skyline.

Resthaven announces redevelopment update

Construction at Resthaven Murray Bridge

South Australian-based aged care provider Resthaven has commenced stage three of its $16.5 million redevelopment at its Murray Bridge facility.

The expansion will provide an extra 18 beds for seniors, bringing the total number of beds at the facility to 96. The new construction features a dedicated hall, café, hairdresser, shop, and library and will replace older areas including the reception and administration area.

The community services building, which will house on-site support staff, is expected to be complete in October 2018.

Stage three of the project is expected to be complete in November 2018.

Anglican Care commences construction

Anglican Care’s CA Brown facility

New South Wales aged care retirement living, and community care provider Anglican Care has commenced the $41 million redevelopment of its CA Brown facility in Booragul.

The new construction aims to expand and improve care services available in the Hunter region, featuring 126 single ensuite rooms – 18 of which are dementia specific – a purpose-built day therapy centre, café, chapel and multi-purpose areas.

Anglican Care board chair Malcolm McDonald said the project expands and improves care services in the area.

“It is projects like this that allow us to build on our wonderful history of care and concern as well as our commitment to provide contemporary high-quality services,” Mr McDonald said.

The redevelopment is expected to be complete in April 2020.

Benetas completes construction

The Views facility in Heidelberg, Victoria

Construction at residential aged and home care provider Benetas is complete with the fit-out at its The Views facility in Heidelberg, Victoria.

The new facility, accommodating 103 residents, incorporates Benetas’ new approach to care which is centred on  apartment style living and home-like environments.

Each apartment is made up of eight bedrooms with private ensuites, a kitchen, dining room and lounge and living area. The facility also features a cafe, sports bar, arts and craft room, hairdressing salon, cinema, library lounge and wellness centre.

Benetas CEO Sandra Hills said the facility allows residents to experience more flexible and personalised care.

“Residents of The Views at Heidelberg will have choice and control over their environment, allowing them to make independent decisions about their daily routine, supported by a dedicated personal carer in each apartment,” Ms Hills said.

The facility will welcome its first residents in mid-October this year.
