Aveo Group opens integrated vertical retirement community

Aged care and retirement living provider Aveo Group has officially opened the doors at its $250 million integrated vertical retirement living community in Newstead in Queensland.

The new 19-storey integrated facility features 154 aged care beds and apartments and 144 independent living apartments including eight pet-friendly penthouses.

Residents at the facility will have access to a recreation space which includes an activity lawn, golf simulator, theatre, day spa, restaurant and bar. The facility also has city skyline views from the rooftop lounge and a floor to glass private dining room.

On-site care services including 24/7 registered nurse, GPs and allied health professionals will be available. Residents will also have access to innovative technologies with 24/7 support, such as a resident app and voice-activated smart home accessibilities.

Southern Plus opens doors

Single bedroom at Southern Plus East Fremantle

Western Australian-based aged care provider Southern Plus is open for business in East Fremantle at the former Kaleeya Maternity Hospital.

The new 83-bed facility features an onsite health and wellness centre, a suite of primary and allied medical professionals and family-focused technologies. The facility also offers specially designed high-care accommodation, dementia support and amenities.

Residents will also have access to 24/7 concierge, freshly prepared chef-designed meals, ensuites, smart TVs, water views and courtyards. Lifestyle services available at the facility include a hairdressing salon, men’s club, cinema, BBQ areas, casual and formal dining areas and a family café.

BlueCross Box Hill unveils first stage

Residential aged care provider BlueCross has announced the opening of stage one of its $64 million facility in Box Hill in Victoria.

The new four-storey facility features 216 beds with a memory support environment for those living with dementia, lounge rooms, dining and sitting rooms, activity areas, consultation and treatment rooms, a library, hairdressing salon, gymnasium and a cinema.

Stage one of the facility opens in October with 173 rooms and stage two is expected to be complete in 2019 with another 43 rooms.

The public will be able to attend an open day of stage one on 22 September 2018.

Halcyon Greens opens recreational precinct

Residential community provider Halcyon Greens opens the first stage of its $300 million lifestyle development at Pimpama in Queensland.

The over 50’s lifestyle community features a Pickleball facility, bowling green and tennis court. Floodlights will be included to allow residents to access the recreational precinct during mornings and at night.

The facility will also feature a cinema, gym, wellness centre and indoor and outdoor pools at its final stage of development.

Halcyon joint managing director Dr Bevan Geissmann said the recreational precinct will improve the health of its residents.

“As an over 50’s lifestyle community, we’re focused on improving the health and fitness of our residents and the recreational facilities are the perfect way to achieve this,” Dr Geissmann said.
