Conference scholarships for WA
Lotterywest has donated money to help Western Australian delegates attend this year’s AAG conference next month.
Lotterywest has donated $136,000 to help Western Australians attend this year’s Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) national conference in Fremantle.
The money will be used to provide scholarships to people who work for not-for-profit agencies, along with active seniors and people living in rural and remote areas, who would otherwise be unable to attend.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Ageing Landscapes’ and over 400 delegates are expected to attend from Australia and overseas.
“Delegates from across Australia and neighbouring countries will address the conference, on topics including elder abuse, social inclusion, life-long disability, the built environment, nutrition and many more,” said the chair of the conference committee
The conference will run form 18-21 November. Registration closes on Tuesday, 11 November.
