Infinite Care announces strategic relationship with Cairns hospital
Infinite Care has a sub-cute care unit based at its facility in Manoora.
Aged care provider Infinite Care has entered into a strategic relationship with the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service by allowing CHHS to operate a satellite ward at its Edge Hill Orchards site in Far North Queensland.
Based in the annex of the main building of the residential aged care home in the Cairns suburb of Manoora, the unit will provide sub-acute care for residents of both the facility and the local community who are ageing or have compromised health concerns.
The unit will have the capacity to admit up to 45 patients and will be utilised by CHHS for sub-acute older persons and rehabilitation. Its first patient was admitted on 13 February.
“We are excited to enhance our relationship with CHHS which will enable residents of the Cairns community and Infinite Care Edge Hill to access expanded services when their care needs require it,” Infinite Care’s founders and joint managing directors Chris Stride and Tony Partridge said in statement.
“Relationships of this nature only enhance the ability of Infinite Care to provide outstanding care to is residents,” they added.
As well as offering sub-acute care to residents, the unit will also create additional job opportunities for those in the local community.
Infinite Care will continue to operate its 120-bed Edge Hill facility independently from the sub-acute care unit.
Having acquired three aged care homes in December, Infinite Care now operates 17 aged care facilities across Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales. The independent provider is responsible for 1,900 residents and employs around 2,000 people.
