Scholarship deadline extended

Applicants for the undergraduate Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme have a week to apply.

The deadline for entries in the annual undergraduate Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme has extended to 5 September.

The scheme is a Commonwealth Government initiative that is administered by the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA).

“The extension of this closing date highlights the importance of attracting nursing students into this particular area of nursing,” said the RCNA’s Acting Executive Director, Elizabeth Foley.

“We really do want each and every eligible candidate out there to consider applying for this funding.”

The scholarships are open to people with a demonstrated commitment to working in aged care and who plan to study undergraduate nursing at an Australian university.

They provide up to $30,000 with a maximum payment of $5000 per semester.

“The funding is there to be used – it’s there to help alleviate some of the financial pressure that many students face,” said Ms Foley.
