Outbreak reporting streamlined, new resources available

The department has made enhancements to residential aged care outbreak reporting forms.

The department has announced enhancements to the notification form that residential aged care services are required to submit when reporting a COVID-19 outbreak or exposure via the COVID-19 Support portal.

The improved form became available on Wednesday 20 July, the Department of Health and Aged Care said. Enhancements include:

  • reduction in data reporting fields
  • improved navigation and functionality
  • incorporating PPE requests as part of the outbreak notification form
  • a simplified report closure at the end of an outbreak.

Requests for PPE in response to a COVID-19 outbreak is now managed through the outbreak or notification form, and the functionality to request PPE outside of a COVID-19 exposure or outbreak has been removed.

No new data fields have been added to the notification form. And current outbreak or exposure notifications will automatically transition to the new template, the department reports.
