COVID-19 Vaccine – What You Need To Know
February 4, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Learn more about COVID-19 vaccination, its ability to protect you from the deadly virus, and your right to decide if the vaccine is right for you. Register for the Older Persons Advocacy Network’s (OPAN) free webinar now.
The Australian government is starting to roll out a national COVID-19 vaccination program to protect people against the virus. The first phase is expected within the next few weeks. The vaccine has been deemed safe and effective by the Australian Therapeutic Drugs Administration, the body that checks the science, benefit and safety of all medicines in Australia.
Older people living in aged care facilities, workers and volunteers in those facilities, along with frontline healthcare professionals may be included in the first phase to get the FREE vaccination, followed by older people living in the community.
The vaccine has been shown overseas to protect older people from the worst effects of the COVID-19 virus and is likely to reduce the risk of transmission.
You have the right to be informed and make your own choices about your medication and vaccinations.
On February 4 an expert panel of medical professionals talk through your options and information to help you make an informed decision about your immunisation. The session will be followed by Q&A to answer your questions.
