Health and Wellness – The power of exercise in maintaining best health

HUR Australia Webinar on February 21st discusses the best exercise principles to maintain best health at all ages.
Exercise and physical activity are well establied as key factors in mainting health and wellness for all age groups. The key goals might vary – while in our fifties the main goal is keeping up good health and mobility, staying active and preventing chronic diseases, as we get older we must set in appropriate principles for best health and wellness including muscle strength and bone mass, but also to exercise to keep up our quality of life, maintain independence and avoid falls.
In this webinar we welcome back one of our regular speakers, Dr Tim Henwood, Group Manager – Research & Development at Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. Dr Henwood is a well known speaker on exercise for older adults with a wide research publication record on targeted exercise programs for adults 65 years, clinical experience and also development and management of an evidence-based, person-centred, best practice care model. The SCC Inc. health and wellness service has been well received in the community with over 3000 clients in South Australia and Northern Territory, consisting of over 45—exercise group presentations, over 1250 allied health one-one-one services, and over 6000 respite hours.
