Introduction to Commonwealth Home Support Program

Overview
Attendees will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of CHSP, including:
· An in-depth look at the goals of CHSP and its place within the broader aged care system.
· Who qualifies for CHSP, how the assessment process works (including the recent introduction of the IAT).
· Service Categories of CHSP, such as domestic assistance, personal care, nursing, social support, and respite care.
· Insights into the responsibilities of service providers, how they coordinate care, and the importance of adhering to CHSP guidelines and quality standards.
· A breakdown of how CHSP is funded and how funding is allocated to ensure equitable access to services across the country (both in its current and new form of Support at Home).
· How CHSP interacts with other aged care programs, such as the Home Care Packages (HCP), and how to navigate transitions between different levels of care.
· Overview of the new support at Home Program, what that means for CHSP providers.
