The Dementia Symposium 2023  – Dementia and the Next Decade: Maintaining Dignity Throughout the Journey

Wednesday, 11th October

Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth WA 6000

The 2023 Dementia Symposium is a must attend event for all dementia change
champions, practitioners, service providers, carers and administrators.

The focus is on the National Dementia Action Plan 2023-33, a joint initiative between the Australian Government and state and territory governments to better collaborate with people living with dementia. NDAP places families and carers at the centre of all initiatives relating to dementia by priortising their needs.

The symposium will cover discussions and topics around the following points:

  • tackling stigma and discrimination
  • delaying onset
  • post-diagnosis support
  • improving treatment
  • supporting carers
  • building workforce capability
  • improving data, research and innovation.

The symposium will feature a keynote by Robert Day, the assistant
secretary responsible for the Dementia, Diversity and Design branch
at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.

Agenda soon to be announced.
