A quality board key to effective governance in a consumer market

AUDIO: Aged care organisations must ensure they have the right people on their boards and then continue to invest in them and their development, an industry expert has told the Leading Age Services Australia National Congress in Melbourne this week.

In a customer-driven marketplace, preferred providers will rule, Community Business Australia principal consultant Patrick Herd told delegates.

To compete in this new environment, he said aged care organisations would need to govern effectively, which started with the board.

Most importantly, providers would need to avoid the status quo, Mr Herd told AAA’s Natasha Egan following his presentation:
