Amana Living opens $32 million aged care hub
Not-for-profit aged care provider Amana Living has opened a new aged care hub in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Not-for-profit aged care provider Amana Living has officially opened a new aged care hub in Perth’s northern suburbs.
The Kinross Care Community consists of a two-storey 96-bed residential centre where the ground floor provides dementia specific care and the level above caters for residents who need care in a supportive environment.
The building, known as The Lake House, also features a day club – which has internal and external courtyards and gardens to improve the quality of life of residents and promote independence and wellbeing – and complementary aged care services such as transition care.
Other facilities include a self-service café, gym, private dining rooms, hairdressing salons, and treatment and consultation rooms for wellness therapy, medical and podiatry consultant visits.
Amana Living chief executive officer Stephanie Buckland said the $32-million development was in response to an increased demand for specialist aged care accommodation in the area.
“The opening of the Kinross Care Community ensures older people can stay in the local area they love, connected to their community, and supported by dedicated staff. Whether it’s permanent accommodation or respite for carers, our team of professionally trained and naturally kind staff are here to provide the care older people need to lead a fulfilling life.”

Kay and Ian Dawson, who recently moved into the Kinross Care Community, helped mark the opening of the hub by cutting a cake.
Construction of the hub ran from March 2021 to May 2023 and involved a project team led by Amana Living with T&Z Architects, PS Structures, Johnstaff, Plan E and DeFiddes Design.
The community was officially opened on 1 August by the Archbishop of Perth, The Most Reverend Kay Goldsworthy at an event attended by state and local members of government and Amana Living executives, staff, residents and family members.
Amana Living now operates 15 residential and transition care centres, six day clubs, 16 retirement villages and home care services in Western Australia.
