Aged care legal expert joins TLC Healthcare
TLC Healthcare has appointed Sabine Phillips as its new chief legal counsel.
TLC Healthcare – which operates 11 residential care homes in Melbourne and Geelong – has appointed Sabine Phillips as its new chief legal counsel.
Ms Phillips has more than 25 years’ experience as an aged care and legal professional. She has been a registered nurse, an approved aged care services provider and a partner-level legal advisor.
Ms Phillips has been a partner at Australian legal firm HWL Ebsworth for almost two years and is leaving the role to join TLC Healthcare. As the 2020 Australia Day honours she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the legal profession and aged care welfare. She was also recognised by her peers as Best Lawyer of the Year for five years running, from 2016 to 2021.
Ms Phillips holds a Master of Laws (legal practice), a Master of Business in organisation behaviour and a Bachelor of Applied Science in advanced nursing.
“Sabine’s experience as a healthcare professional, aged care provider and lawyer make her an invaluable addition to team TLC,” said TLC Healthcare CEO Lou Pascuzzi. “Sabine will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role, and I look forward to welcoming her to the team,” he said.
“Alongside my existing executive team, Sabine will be tasked with ensuring TLC meets all of its regulatory requirements as well as providing the organisation with specialised aged care legal advice,” said Mr Pascuzzi.
