Healthcare ICT and mobile workflow solutions vendor Ascom has appointed David Williams as its company director for Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Williams, who previously held the role of Ascom Australia’s sales director for two-and-a-half years, took over from Feargal O’Farrell on 2 June.
He said his post-COVID challenge will be to ensure the Ascom team continues its adaptability and resilience shown during the pandemic.
“A challenge as an incoming senior business leader will be in shaping and guiding how we embed the lessons learnt in terms of engaging with our most important stakeholders – the customer base – and ensuring we understand their needs,” Mr Williams told Community Care Review.
More broadly Mr Williams said he looked forward to growing and developing the business.
“The opportunity that lies ahead is enormous, and [I’m] very much looking forward to working with our customers and the Ascom team to grow and develop the business,” Mr Williams said.
“With the introduction of new innovative solutions of our Telligence Nurse Call Solution and the recent introduction of the Ascom i63 handset, I’m confident that as a business, we have everything we need to support our customers and partners,” he said.
Ascom chief sales officer Francis Schmeer thanked Mr O’Farrell for and the contributions he made to Ascom over 16 years.
“He was instrumental in setting up the structure we now have in place with a strong local management team supporting David and his new additional responsibilities,” Mr Schmeer said.
Mr O’Farrell welcomed Mr Williams to the role and said it has been a privilege to have led Ascom during an important period of transformation and growth.
“It has been a great joy to work with the entire Australian team and our customers, and I have enjoyed every moment of my time here.
“It is clear that we are in a great market sector, with great solutions that resonate with customers, and it is the right time to hand over the baton to David and the team,” Mr O’Farrell said.
