Benetas announces new chair

Risk compliance professional Julia Pryor takes over the lead governance role at the Victorian not-for-profit aged care provider.

Former lawyer Julia Pryor, who is known for leading businesses through major alterations and regulatory reforms, will lead Benetas into its next phase as the newly appointed chair.

Ms Pryor is chief risk officer of wealth at AMP and has 20 years of experience in risk compliance management and corporate governance within the financial services sector under her belt.

Ms Pryor, who joined Benetas’ board in 2019, said she was honoured to take on the new role and continuing the good work of those who came before her.

“I am deeply committed to the mission and values of Benetas as a leading not for profit provider of aged care services in Victoria,” Ms Pryor said.

“I never cease to be amazed at the dedication of staff in the aged care sector and particularly at Benetas,” Mr Urwin said.

“It has been an honour to serve as chair over the past six years.”

Mr Urwin will continue to serve on the board for another year.

Benetas is a not-for-profit provider of residential, in-home and community aged care, retirement living and respite and allied health services, in Victoria.
