Benetas appoints chief of IT

Benetas appoints John Staines as its chief information officer.

Victorian aged care provider Benetas has appointed John Staines to the newly created position of chief information officer.

A seasoned CIO who has worked in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors, Mr Staines was most recently chief technology officer for The Evolved Group – a human insights organisation combining human research and data science.

Mr Staines arrives at Benetas wih a proven record of planning, developing and executing major transformational projects – including digital transformation, change management and cultural change. Mr Staines’ professional experience is underpinned by postgraduate qualifications in computing and information technology

Benetas CEO Sandra Hills said Mr Staines will be an invaluable addition to the executive team and the broader organisation. “As the inaugural CIO to Benetas, John’s appointment represents Benetas’ commitment to utilising technology to its fullest capacity.”

Mr Staines said he plans to focus on key areas including risk mitigation, technology roadmap development and solution mapping based on organisational goals. “Our excellent IT team will ensure our employees and clients can access information quickly and easily with the right tools in place to empower their decision making,” he said.
