West Australian aged care provider Brightwater Care Group has appointed health bureaucrat Kelly Worlock as the organisation’s inaugural chief operations officer.
Ms Worlock was most recently executive director of governance and system support directorate at the WA Department of Health, where she worked for 10 years.
In that role she provided support to the WA government to manage the state’s COVID-19 lockdown and oversaw the deployment of WA nurses to Victorian aged care homes during last year’s outbreak.
Brightwater CEO Jennifer Lawrence said the newly established role would bring the organisation’s core operational business together.
“As our new chief operations officer, Kelly will lead the areas of residential aged care, disability services, clinical excellence and quality, bringing together an important team to drive change and improvement in our core business and support our staff across our residential sites,” she said.
