ECH adds tech power to executive team

ECH (Enabling Confidence at Home) has announced three technology-related executive appointments, after becoming the first Australian aged care provider to acquire a tech start up.
Technology remains a key focus for the progressive South Australian organisation, which announced last month the acquisition of home monitoring systems provider Billy.
Chris Dury has been appointed chief information officer with Billy co-founders Tim and Melissa McDougall joining as Billy general manager and chief technology officer respectively.
Mr Dury previously owned and managed his own tech start up, Traversity, which focused on building technologies for health professionals, and has held senior positions in Australia and overseas including Empired and OBS.
“Technology will continue to shape how services are developed and delivered in this sector and I am excited to help drive this both at ECH and for the industry in general,” he said in a statement.
ECH CEO David Panter said the appointments would bring a wealth of technology related industry experience to the organisation and help oversee the provider’s digital transformation.
Dr Panter said technology has been shown to be a tool for positive change in the home care sector.
“We have already seen the positive change technology can bring when used correctly and these appointments are a clear demonstration of our commitment to look for new and innovative ways to enable people to live independently in their own home,” he said.
“Chris and Melissa will play important roles in leading ECH’s ongoing growth in the technology space, while Tim will oversee Billy, which is also a key driver of ECH’s growing suite of services designed to provide more choice and independence to our many clients around Australia.”
