Jaqueline Kelly appointed to Prime Super board

Prime Super has appointed Jaqueline Kelly, CEO of the Lutheran Care Community, to its board of directors. Prime Super said Ms Kelly was the second appointee to the board with knowledge of the health and aged care industries, in recognition of the fund’s merger with Health Industry Plan (HIP) in May 2014.

Lutheran Care Community (LCC) offers 18 services and provides accommodation, aged care, youth, disability, mental health, and chaplaincy services.

Prior to joining LCC, Ms Kelly has had more than 20 years’ experience across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors including senior roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Queensland Treasury and Lend Lease Advisor Services.

Amana Living appoints Tim Nayton to head new healthcare division 

Tim Nayton has been appointed general manager health care with major Western Australian provider Amana Living.

Amanda Living said that in recent years it had grown its team of skilled clinicians and experts in dementia, restorative care, clinical services and lifestyle, and they would be brought under the direction of Mr Nayton in a new portfolio that provided greater opportunities for the organisation to develop innovative approaches to support seniors.

Mr Nayton said his new position demonstrated that Amana Living was committed to continually improving the care and services it delivered “and even to investigate whole new paradigms in healthcare.”

Mr Nayton has experience leading large-scale operations within or connected to the healthcare environment. Most recently he was general manager of clinical governance and quality with Medibank.

Tony De Domenico appointed chair of AHURI

Former MP of the ACT Legislative Assembly Tony De Domenico has been appointed the new chairman of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) board.

As a former MP Mr De Domenico had ministerial responsibilities for urban services and industrial relations. He was also formerly Australia’s Trade Commissioner to Italy, and for 10 years was executive director of the Victoria division of the Urban Development Institute of Australia, before taking up the chair at Places Victoria in 2014.

Mr De Domenico said AHURI led the way in providing high-quality research that contributed to national housing, homelessness and related urban policy development, and he looked forward to contributing to the organisation’s development.

AHURI’s executive director Dr Ian Winter welcommed the appointment, saying Mr De Domenico brought a unique and valuable mix of experience to the position.
