Former South Australian minister for health and ageing John Hill is among three new appointees to the board of aged care provider ACH Group.

ACH said Mr Hill, who has more than 20 years in public life, would be well positioned to help it respond to the aged care reform agenda.

Mr Hill’s recent appointment as chair of SALA (South Australian Living Artists) added a synergy to ACH Group, as the provider had recently re-committed to the promotion of an arts community for improved health and wellbeing with five venues set to exhibit during the upcoming SALA Festival.

Mr Hill’s fellow appointees are Brenda Wilson and Michael Luchich.

Professor Brenda Wilson has extensive experience in the public and private health industry in both the UK and Australia. Along with her role as CEO at the Cancer Council, Professor Wilson serves on a number of complementary boards and has recently been appointed to the position of Lieutenant Governor.

With a range of extensive business experience from diverse industries, Mr Luchich was specifically focused on driving business performance, operational excellence, customer service, sales and marketing, ACH said. Mr Luchich also serves on a number of other Boards in the not-for-profit sector and has strong knowledge of Board procedures, governance and regulatory compliance reporting.

“We’re delighted to welcome three new standout performers in John Hill, Brenda Wilson and Michael Luchich,” said ACH Group chair Brent Blanks.

“I look forward to working alongside them and the rest of the Board as we continue to examine how we can best serve the current needs of our community, while keeping an eye on the future by reinventing expectations about what’s possible for people in their 70s, 80s and 90s.”

ACH Group CEO Mike Rungie said the ACH Board already comprised a range of highly competent individuals who brought a level of expertise from a variety of industries. “With these new additions, together they form a formidable group who are well positioned to guide ACH Group through the transformation we are currently undergoing, from aged care provider to promoter of good lives,” Mr Rungie said.

Mirus said that Mr Duckers had experience in relation to the new accommodation pricing changes, introduced 1 July 2014, as he had been working closely with the company over the past year to identify and develop a tool that would help clients manage the changes according to their strategic direction.

“I am excited about the opportunity to continue to work with the Mirus team, including further technology and process advancement, all looking to drive further efficiencies in the sector,” said Mr Duckers.

Mr Duckers previously worked at Rothschild Investment Bank, both in London and Sydney.
