New CEO for Columbia Aged Care Services

Lucy O’Flaherty joins long-standing NSW residential aged care provider Columbia Aged Care Services.

Ms O’Flaherty is the provider’s new CEO and replaces Tiffany Boys, who held the role for 11 years.

While previously working as CEO for Glenview Community Services in Tasmania, Ms O’Flaherty oversaw the opening of a self-contained specialist dementia facility in Glenorchy in north Hobart. Ms O’Flaherty stepped down as Glenview’s CEO in May last year after a decade in the role.

Ms O’Flaherty’s appointment at Columbia coincides with the need to adapt to the ongoing aged care reforms and prepare for changing needs in service delivery, environments, and the workforce.

Ms O’Flaherty won the AIM Not for Profit Manager of the Year award in 2016 and announced as the Tasmanian Telstra Business Woman of the Year in 2019.

To unwind and destress, Ms O’Flaherty is a shoemaker in her spare time. “To be able to sit there and plod away and lose myself, it repairs my soul at times,” she told the ABC last year.

Columbia Aged Care Services runs residential aged care facilities across NSW in Strathfield, Marrickville, Chatswood and Oberon.
