McStay heads up Hynes’ new health and aged care section

Aged care lawyer Julie McStay has moved to Hynes Lawyers to head up its new health and aged care division.

Queensland law firm Hynes Lawyers has appointed Julie McStay to the position of partner with responsibility for heading up its new health, aged care and disability services section.

Before this appointment, Ms McStay specialised in the field of health law for Blake Dawson for a number of years.

In that role she provided advice on negotiated mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, asset redevelopment, regulatory compliance and operational matters.

Ms McStay also assisted a number of health and aged care clients with education and training programs.

She has rolled out a course on mandatory reporting of abuse for a national aged care provider and she has developed training on good corporate governance for board members of small not-for-profit organisations.

Ms McStay holds a Masters of Law with a major in health law. She regularly presents at industry events, is deputy chair of the Mater Human Research Ethics Committee and has contributed a number of articles to Australian Ageing Agenda magazine.
