Catholic aged care provider Mercy Health has appointed Andrew Hewett as executive director communications and stakeholder relations.

Mr Hewett joins Mercy Health – also a provider of acute and subacute hospital care, and specialist women’s health services – with more than 25 years’ experience in journalism, communications and marketing.

Angela Nolan – Mercy Health’s group executive officer – said Mr Hewett’s appointment will strengthen the not-for-profit provider’s strategic capabilities as the organisation expands its health and aged care services.

“Andrew joins the Mercy Health executive team where we believe his rich expertise and experience in complex and diverse communication settings will bring fresh insights and ideas to our team and across all levels of the organisation.”

She added: “With a wealth of experience across a number of industries and professions, Andrew’s career demonstrates not only a unique understanding of Australia’s communications landscape, but also shows a deep alignment to Mercy Health’s foundational values in honesty and transparency.”

In response to his appointment Mr Hewett said he was thrilled to be joining the Mercy Health team. “Supporting organisations who have a deep passion for caring for others has always been a priority of mine, I’m pleased to be continuing this work with Mercy Health where the team dedicate their operations to improving the lives of Australians across the nation.”
