West Australian aged care provider Catholic Homes has appointed Associate Professor Rosanna Capolingua to its board.

West Australian aged care provider Catholic Homes has appointed former Australian Medical Association federal president Associate Professor Rosanna Capolingua to its board.

Associate Professor Capolingua is chair of the Western Australian Immunisation Strategy Committee and a board member of St John of God Healthcare and the AMA’s Indigenous Scholarship Foundation.

She is also medical director of the AMA WA Foundation and an advisor and mentor with the association’s Dr YES program, which targets preventative health for youth.

Associate Professor Capolingua was federal president of the AMA from 2007 to 2009 and president of AMA WA from 1998 to 2000.

Catholic Homes chief executive Paul Andrew said Associate Professor Capolingua’s experience and leadership roles boosts the organisation’s medical and clinical expertise.

“[Associate Professor] Capolingua has extensive experience across health care delivery and the medical profession, holding many senior committee, taskforce, executive, board and chair positions in the health sector at State and Federal levels,” Mr Andrews said.

Ms Capolingua said it was a privilege to serve on Catholic Homes’ board.

“Contributing to the provision of respectful and quality care for our older citizens is a significant responsibility,” Ms Capolingua said.
