New CEO at Royal Freemasons
John Fogarty joins Royal Freemasons as its chief executive officer.
Victorian-based not-for-profit aged care provider Royal Freemasons has appointed John Fogarty as its new chief executive officer.
Mr Fogarty has more than 30 years’ experience working within the health, aged care and community care sectors.
“Royal Freemasons is delighted to have attracted such a high-calibre leader as John to continue our strong tradition of community service and build upon the outstanding work that is delivered every day by our vibrant and dedicated staff,” said board chair Craig Head in a statement.
Some of Mr Fogarty’s previous appointments include:
- CEO, St John of God Health Care, Western Australia
- executive director, Perth Southern Hospitals, WA
- executive director, Western Australian Hospitals, WA
- chief operating officer, Mercy Health Australia, NSW, ACT and Victoria.
“The board is confident that in John we have found someone who will lead the organisation with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and customer experience, and who will champion the interests of our elders,” said Mr Head.
A nurse by background, Mr Fogarty has completed a Master of Business Administration and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
“I am extremely pleased to be joining the organisation at this pivotal time,” said Mr Fogarty. “I am keen to build on the strong legacy of this 115-year-old organisation to grow, innovate and deliver high quality services that provide positive outcomes to consumers.”
The immediate focus for Mr Fogarty – who took up the CEO role on 16 May – is to navigate the current changes and challenges facing the aged care sector while ensuring senior Australians receive the care they deserve.
“It is an absolute privilege to support fellow Victorians who, after a lifetime of valuable contributions right across the state, now require exceptional care that they are more than entitled to,” said Mr Fogarty.
