New chair for MiCare
MiCare has appointed Jos van de Ven as its new chairperson.

MiCare, which specialises in offering aged care services to people from culturally diverse backgrounds, has appointed Jos van de Ven as its new chairperson.
Mr Van Ven was actively involved in both the extension and refurbishment of MiCare aged care homes Prins Willem Alexander Lodge in Birkdale Queensland and Avondrust Lodge in Carrum Down Victoria.

Previously a MiCare board member, Mr Van Ven replaces Ignatius Oostermeyer who has been with MiCare for 24 years – 14 of which as chairperson.
During Mr Oostermeyer’s tenure, the organisation was renamed from DutchCare to MiCare (Migrant Care).
In 2016, the new organisation merged with the New Hope Foundation, a welfare organisation which provides services for migrants and refugees in Melbourne and surrounding areas.
“It has been a privilege to have worked with such strong leadership from Ignatius,” said MiCare executive director Petra Neeleman. “His support and work for MiCare has been outstanding. Jos has big shoes to fill but I am sure he will do an equally sterling job in leading the board and the organisation.”
