ACC appoints new chief executive
The Aged Care Channel has appointed David Clarke as its chief executive officer.
Mr Clarke has been general manager of ACC Productions for the past 18 months and has extensive experience in the healthcare sector.
Before joining ACC Mr Clarke was managing director of Paul Hartmann for 12 years and previously worked for a research organisation.
A qualified intensive care nurse, Mr Clarke is also a director of the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of NSW (Paraquad).
“The challenges for our organisation are to keep our product and service offering fresh and relevant for our members, to maintain our growth locally and internationally, and to serve more and different customers around the world,” said Mr Clarke. “I am excited to be leading our team in meeting those challenges.”
Mr Clarke takes over from Russell Bricknell who was recently appointed CEO at Baptistcare in Western Australia.
Greengate appoints Chris Rigby as CEO
Developer and operator of integrated care villages, Greengate has appointed Chris Rigby as the organisation’s new CEO, while Peter Hodgson becomes chair of the board and John Russell is appointed a board director.
The organisation said the new appointments would support its decision to deliver care while capitalising on future opportunities as aged care is increasingly deregulated.
Mr Hodgson, who has worked as a non-executive director with the organisation for the past six years, said he was pleased to steer Greengate through a period of growth and opportunity.
Mr Russell is CEO of Myer Family Investments, which is a major shareholder in privately owned Greengate.
The organisation said that Mr Rigby’s appointment as group CEO would support Greengate’s expansion during 2017 as two new villages – St Patrick’s Green in Sydney and St Luke’s Green in Brisbane – are completed.
The organisation is also launching new projects at Auchenflower in Queensland and Penrith in NSW this year.
Mr Rigby was most recently CEO of NSW aged care provider Scalabrini Villages and was previously managing director of Catholic Healthcare.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Rigby said his experience in the aged care industry coupled with Greengate’s track record of site acquisition design and delivery would drive the future growth of the company.
A spokesperson for Scalabrini told Australian Ageing Agenda that Mr Rigby officially wraps up at Scalabrini on 7 April and Elaine Griffin, currently the provider’s director of people, learning and culture, will be acting CEO.
Brightwater appoints new home care chief
Major Western Australian aged care provider Brightwater has appointed Di Bennett as the manager of Brightwater At Home, the home care division of not-for-profit organisation.
Ms Bennett will lead a team of 200 staff, comprising allied health professionals, support workers and client coordinators who deliver care to 1,100 clients.
Brightwater CEO Jennifer Lawrence said Ms Bennett’s expertise in the area of change management made her a stand-out applicant for the role.
Prior to joining Brightwater, Ms Bennett has also held a variety of leadership roles for public and private hospitals and care providers over the past 30 years.
