Guild appoints interim CEO, deputy chair

Lee Hill

The Aged Care Guild has announced the appointment of Lee Hill as interim CEO until the position is permanently filled.

Mr Hill has previously served as acting CEO for Medicines Australia and is the founder of Miller Hill Partners, a consultancy to CEOs and boards.

He replaces Cameron O’Reilly who resigned to take up a senior position advising the NSW Government on energy policy.

The guild said it expects the search for a CEO, which is being undertaken by InterSearch Australia, should lead to a permanent appointment in April.

David Armstrong

“We look forward to working with Lee while we finalise the process of finding a long-term successor to Cameron,” said the Aged Care Guild’s re-elected chair Ross Johnston said.

“Lee’s leadership expertise and experience of acting as interim CEO for a number of organisations and strategic planning capabilities position him well to add immediate value to our membership.”

The guild also announced the appointment of David Armstrong, CEO of Allity Aged Care, as deputy chair of the guild.

New board directors at ECH

Loewn Steel

Leading South Australian aged care provider ECH has made two key appointments to its governance.

Marketing and communications specialist Loewn Steel and business advisory leader Marc Makrid will both join the ECH board.

Ms Steel comes with significant expertise in corporate governance already sitting on the Business SA and Adelaide Central Market Authority boards where she uses her experience as a non-executive director and former CEO to drive change across marketing and communications.

Marc Makrid

Mr Makrid has immense understanding in directorships and strategic growth sitting on 10 boards including Angelakis, Campion Education and Seeley International.

ECH said its board has identified data management, emerging modes of communication, technological advancements and continual changes to privacy and other regulations as key focus areas requiring dynamically integrated digital and technological platforms.
