Chris McGowan to leave Silver Chain

Dr Chris McGowan

Chair of the Silver Chain Group board Anne Skipper announced on 19 April that Dr McGowan was returning to his native state to take up the position of CEO at South Australian Health.

She said Dr McGowan’s new appointment was a positive reflection of his impact and achievements at Silver Chain.

“Under his leadership, revenue increased from $110 million to $300 million and Silver Chain has positioned itself as a national leader in community based palliative care, introduced innovative service delivery and funding models, and established a presence across Australia,” Ms Skipper said.

Dr McGowan will leave Silver Chain on Friday 4 May.

The group is currently recruiting a new CEO. In the interim, Lyn Jones, Silver Chain executive general manager, strategy and executive operations, will be acting CEO.
