HammondCare clinical director to head international body
Aged care provider HammondCare has welcomed the appointment of its senior staff specialist Dr Friedbert Kohler as president of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO).

ISPO is a global non-governmental organisation aiming to improve the quality of life for people who need prosthetic, mobility and assistive devices. It works closely with the World Health Organization advising on education, research and issues.
HammondCare said Dr Kohler’s appointment is a reflection of the high regard in which he is held as a leader in rehabilitation and assistive technology.
Dr Kohler said during his two-year appointment he planned to champion the needs of the people who were dependant on assistive technology, in particular prosthetics and orthotics but could not afford or source them.
Dr Kohler is the director of medical services, Braeside Hospital and the clinical director of aged care and rehabilitation in Sydney’s south-west.
