KinCare appoints Brian Bissaker as CEO

Brian Bissaker has been appointed CEO of major community aged care provider KinCare, replacing outgoing CEO Jason Howie who will stand down in March 2017.

Mr Bissaker has an extensive background in financial services most recently serving as CEO of Virgin Money Australia and CEO of Colonial First State (CFS).

He is also a former director and deputy chair of the Financial Services Council.

Mr Howie, who has been chief executive officer for the past 16 years, will remain a non-executive director on the organisation’s board.

Mr Bissaker said he was excited to be joining KinCare and is looking forward to working with the 2,000 employees to deliver exceptional service to its customers.

IRT Group appoints new chairman     

IRT Group has announced that chairman Bruce Allan has stepped down from the role in anticipation of his retirement from the IRT Board in early 2017.

Illawarra businessman Mike Halloran was elected as the organisation’s new chair.

Mr Allan has served on the IRT Board as a director since 2005 and chairman since 2013.

IRT CEO Nieves Murray said that during Mr Allan’s tenure the organisation’s assets had grown by over 20 per cent to $1.1 billion while annual income increased by over 30 per cent to $184 million.

Mr Halloran said he looked forward to working closely with the board and IRT leadership to capitalise on the opportunities presented by a growing ageing population.

Chris Guille new chair of National Seniors 

National Seniors has announced the appointment of Chris Guille as its new chairman.

Mr Guille has been a board director of National Seniors since June 2012 and brings over 30 years of experience in banking, trustee services and investment advice to the role.

He is an experienced company director and currently works as an adviser to a number of charitable groups including Aboriginal trusts.

Mr Guille said that creating an even higher profile of advocacy for the over 50’s was on his list of priorities.

He takes over from David Carvosso who has been chair since 2011.

Architects BLP appoint aged care head 

Billard Leece Partnership (BLP) has announced Emily Gilfillan as its national aged care/seniors living sector leader.

Ms Gilfillan joined BLP in 2014 with over 20 years’ architectural experience working on projects in aged care, multi-unit residential, commercial, new town centres and education.

BLP said Ms Gilfillan was spearheading its burgeoning aged care portfolio, leading projects such as the BlueCross Springfield redevelopment, which is currently under construction, and Aveo Newstead.

Ms Gilfillan is also an advisor to the National Ageing Research Institute.
