Tony Howarth appointed CHA chair

Catholic Health Australia has appointed Tony Howarth as the chair of its board.
Mr Howarth has been chair of St John of God Health Care for the past 12 years.
Catholic Health Australia’s CEO Suzanne Greenwood said Mr Howarth brought many years of financial and senior-level governance experience to the position.
Mr Howarth takes over as chair from Rowena McNally, who has been in the position since 2012.
Discussing CHA’s future direction, Mr Howarth has said strong, coordinated Catholic representation in the areas of aged care and health policy would be needed.
“We need to participate in the conversation that the government has to have with the population about what’s affordable,” Mr Howarth said.
Samantha Drury appointed CFO at Bethanie

Western Australia’s largest not-for-profit aged care and retirement living provider Bethanie has appointed Samantha Drury as its chief financial officer.
Mr Drury had a broad range of knowledge and insight across a variety of sectors, gaining international expertise throughout business dealings in Australia and the United Kingdom, Bethanie said.
She was previously head of finance – western region at Laing O’Rourke and CFO and company secretary at VDM Group Limited.
