Suzanne Schultz appointed KinCare’s ACT manager

KinCare Australia has appointed Susanne Schultz to the role of state manager ACT, covering the ACT, Southern Highlands and Riverina/Murray regions.
She joins KinCare with over 20 years’ experience as a senior business leader, having held CEO, board and senior management roles in the health, education and community sectors. She is a Fullbright scholar, pharmacist, psychologist and successful businesswoman.
CEO of KinCare Jason Howie said that Ms Schultz had developed a strong reputation for building relationships and delivering health and services in partnership with communities.
Ms Schultz said she was excited to join the company at such an important time of growth and change in the community and aged care sector.
Alison Quinn appointed RLC president

The Retirement Living Council has elected Alison Quinn as its new president.
Ms Quinn is the CEO of RetireAustralia and has held senior roles in the public and private sectors.
She succeeds outgoing president Derek McMillan, who has held the role since the formation of the Retirement Living Council in 2013.
Ms Quinn said her aim was to ensure the sector could grow quickly enough to meet the increased need for seniors housing and retirement villages over the next decade and beyond.
She also paid tribute to Mr McMillan for his work as the inaugural president of the Council.
“Derek has been at the forefront of our work of ensuring the proven benefits of retirement villages in extending the independence and wellbeing of their residents are recognised throughout the community,” Ms Quinn said.
Jan Horsnell to retire after decade at SCCV

Southern Cross Care Victoria has announced the early retirement of long-serving chief executive officer Jan Horsnell, due to ill-health.
Chairman Greg van Mourik said Ms Horsnell had transformed the organisation, overhauling its residential portfolio and becoming a leader in home care.
“We are indebted to Ms Horsnell for leading the transformation of Southern Cross Care Victoria into a unified, thriving and financially sustainable organisation that is well-placed in every respect to meet the challenges of aged care into the future,” he said.
Ms Horsnell said it had been a privilege to have led the organisation through such a period of change. “It is an honour to have had the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of the older Victorians and to have been able to have some influence in public policy for older people throughout Australia,” she said.
Ms Horsnell will also be standing aside from governance roles with Catholic Health Australia and Catholic Social Services at the end of her terms.
SCCV said an executive search for a new CEO was underway, with a handover expected by late May.
