Remote Accord appoints new chairs
The Aged Care Workforce Accord has announced the appointment of a new chair and vice chair.
The Aged Care Workforce Remote Accord has announced the appointment of a new chair and vice chair for its leadership group.
Tamra Bridges is chair and Mark Diamond is the vice chair.
Ms Bridges – who is executive director at not-for-profit provider Silverchain – has extensive experience working with remote service providers in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Mr Diamond also has considerable experience working with remote service providers and currently works as an aged care consultant in South Australia.
Ms Bridges and Mr Diamond have both been members of the remote accord leadership group for a number of years.
Ms Bridges replaces interim chair Praveen Gopal and Mr Diamond replaces interim vice chair Ken Markwell.
Former vice chair Mr Gopal stood in for inaugural chair Chris Hall who resigned from the role in July. Mr Markwell subsequently stepped into the vice chair role vacated by Mr Gopal.
Established in 2018, the accord consists of employers and experts delivering aged care services in remote areas of Australia.
The accord was created following a key recommendation of the royal commission as a way of addressing the shortage of appropriately trained aged care workers in remote Australia.
