Treasure Jennings named complaints commissioner
The former Victorian mental health complaints commissioner and disability services commissioner will start her new role in November.
The government has appointed Treasure Jennings as the new aged care complaints commissioner, to commence with the new Aged Care Act on 1 November.
With previous roles as the Victorian mental health complaints commissioner and disability services commissioner, Ms Jennings brings extensive experience at leading consumer complaints and dispute resolution to the position.
Ms Jennings’ new role is key to the aged care regulatory and governance system and she will work alongside Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner Liz Hefren-Webb to help respond to failures in service delivery and assist older people, their families and carers to understand the complaints process.

Minister for Aged Care and Seniors Sam Rae said as they developed the new Act there was clear feedback on the need for an independent complaints commissioner and that he was “delighted” to announce Ms Jennings’ appointment.
“This appointment brings us one step closer to the rights-based, person-centred aged care system that’s a safer and fairer aged care system for everyone,” he said.
