Ibis Care commits to sustainable future
Residential aged care provider Ibis Care has invested $310,000 in solar panel installations, as part of a push to make a suburban facility greener.

Ibis Care’s Ferndale Gardens aged care home in Mortdale in southern Sydney is celebrating a sustainable makeover following the installation of 527 solar panels in late 2024.
The aged care provider invested $310,000 in a 323.15kw solar system that is projected to reduce their energy requirements by 35 per cent annually.
Chief executive officer of Ibis Care La Stacey Baramy said this reduction in energy requirements was expected to translate into a saving of just over $100,000, which they planned to reinvest into the facility.
Ms Baramy said the solar power project marked an important step toward building a more sustainable future for Ferndale Gardens and Ibis Care more broadly.
“We firmly believe in taking steps that benefit both our environment and the communities we serve and by investing in renewable energy, we’re ensuring that Ferndale Gardens is a leading example of forward-thinking aged care,” she said.
“Just like the care we provide to our residents, we’re absolutely committed to doing the right thing for our environment.”
