Odyssey celebrates DA for third community
Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities has been granted development approval for a 188-apartment resort-living community in Hope Island.

Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities has received development approval for its third site, to be built in the Gold Coast’s northern suburb of Hope Island. The land was originally acquired in March 2024.
The Odyssey Hope Island community will include 188 apartments across a 13-level dual tower. Apartments will be a mixture of one-bedroom to three-bedroom properties and the top floor is reserved for a limited number of penthouses.
The block will feature water views, an onsite putting green, a virtual driving range and a 19th hole lounge for residents.
Residents will also have access to a dedicated wellness hub with an onsite doctor surgery, a hairdresser, an exclusive coffee shop, concierge services, extensive gardens and access to qualified onsite care teams at all times.
The boutique ground-level precinct of commercial vendors will be open to the public.

Odyssey chief executive officer and founder Phil Usher said the development approval was a significant milestone for the aged care resort living group.

“We’re creating communities where seniors don’t need to compromise, and this builds on what Odyssey has always set out to do, which is to create a brighter future for ageing Australians,” said Mr Usher.
“There will be numerous features that will generate excitement and given this location has strong connections to the golfing lifestyle, we’ve incorporated several elements we believe people will be very pleased about.
“For local retirees already enjoying life in luxury retirement villages, it will be reassuring to know that when the next stage of life arrives, Odyssey will be there to provide the kind of care and support that respects their lifestyle and preferences.”

A major shopping centre is directly beside the new Odyssey Hope Island residence and a shuttle bus service will link residents with the community at Odyssey’s Robina location and Chevron Island location, set to be completed in early 2026.
“For us, it’s about creating communities where older Australians can feel at ease, stay connected and enjoy every stage of later life with confidence,” Mr Usher said.
